JOB TITLE: Manager Project Engineering (Capital Projects)

LOCATION: North Carolina

PURPOSE: The Manager, Project Engineering is responsible for managing resources for the successful realization of major capital investments which typically are greater than ten million dollars. This responsibility includes maintaining compliance with the project budget and timetable, while mitigating project risks . Reports to the Director, Capital Engineering and works closely with senior members of the global engineering team, regional general managers and site leaders

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering; Masters desirable& PE or EIT advantageous. Mandatory current valid, unrestricted passport .

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of (5) years of recent related manufacturing construction experience.
  • Successful project management of projects over $20 million a plus
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Basic understanding of CIP Budget Control and Cash Flow
  • Must be able and willing to travel internationally at any time, including weekends and holidays and spend majority of time at the project site and away from the office for extended periods. Travel could exceed 80% at peak.
  • Strong planning, execution, problem solving and communication skills required.
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees is crucial to success in this role.
  • Team player with ability to effectively interact with business functions such as Product Development, Operations, Marketing, Finance, etc.
  • Ability to cover the project in the absence of Director, Capital Engineering and be promotable within 3-5 year period. Interest and potential to develop professionally possibly by movement into Operations.

    DUTIES:
  • Insure that safety and security levels within all areas affected by the project activities are of the highest standards
  • Develop systems and standards for bid packages
  • Primary contact for communications between site and engineering project team
  • Keep Director, Capital Engineering informed of progress and exceptions
  • Assumes Management of Project in absence of Director of Engineering
  • In concert with Director of Engineering – participates as part of a collaborative team for the total success of the project including start-up and commercialization
  • Insure that scope of work, standards documents, and bid packages are consistent with machine and product specifications
  • Post and insure accuracy of project budget and timetable weekly forecast reports
  • Insure proper approvals for all schematic, detail, for construction, and as built drawings prior to general distribution
  • Audit the quality of all contract work on a daily basis to insure it meets industry best practice and quality criteria
  • Audit compliance to all applicable internal and external standards, including FM, relevant regional government building codes including fire prevention and protection, high and low voltage electrical, and civil work
  • Insure that proper permits are in place prior to work
  • Manage “tie-in” coordination with local utility companies and the site
  • Insure contractor conformance of deliverables
  • Maintain a continuous value engineering process
  • Arrange scheduling and logistics for all third party operator, safety, and maintenance training as requested by the site
  • Oversee commissioning, acceptance, and turnover of major equipment once it is in a commercial model
  • Maintain all charge-back ledgers
  • Direct spare parts inventory stocking process
  • Coordinate a LEED audit (If applicable)
  • Maintain documentation for all critical elements of the project, i.e., Project File
  • Conduct a post-completion audit
  • Complete any other duties as defined by the project director

    JOB TITLE: Automation Engineer

    Purpose of Position
